Wow we came back and only lost by one run? That game was 1-1 going into the 8th. I left when VA High got ahead 5-1.

It was a heartbreaker for the Lady Vikes. In the bottom of the 8th trailing 5-1, PV hit two solo homers to make it 5-3, then got two singles with one out. Rock Thompson hit one off the top of the fence that bounced up and fell back in the park for a double driving in those two runners to tie the game. An inch or two further and that ball bounces over for a walk-off 3 run homer. The next two batters for PV went down on strikes and Va High scored one in the 9th to win it.

Wow, what a wild game.

It was an awesome game. I hate that we lost. . . but I told my daughter to take tonights game and learn, learn, learn from it. Many more things are learned from losses than wins. Marie pitched an awesome ball game and she has nothing to feel bad about. She had at least 12 strikeouts, our team hit 2 almost 3 homeruns and we still couldn't pull it off.

Congratulations to the VA High team. They played great as well and they also had two homeruns. Good Luck to them in the state finals!
